01The programme

An interdisciplinary view of the questions that shape our century.

Organised by the UNESCO Chair on Cultural Diplomacy, Governance and Education, the programme gives participants an interdisciplinary perspective on contemporary global issues and strengthens their understanding of international relations, global governance and cultural diplomacy.

Through intercultural workshops, participants engage in conflict resolution, storytelling and dialogue on peace education, gaining practical skills in global citizenship and peace advocacy.

Sessions, workshops and simulations are conducted entirely in English.

01 · Eligibility

  • Participants must have a minimum proficiency level of B1 in English.
  • Participants must submit a valid ID or passport.
  • Students under 18 years of age require the consent of a legal guardian to participate.

02 · Accommodation

  • Accommodation service is provided by a company other than Istanbul Aydın University.
  • Participants must adhere to the accommodation rules and regulations set further by the organizers.

03 · Programme activities

  • The programme will include trips and educational activities organized by the UNESCO Chair at Istanbul Aydın University.
  • Programme activity details such as time and location may be subject to change.

04 · Code of conduct

  • Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
  • Any misdemeanor may result in immediate termination from the programme without refund.

05 · Health and safety

  • Participants are responsible for their own health insurance coverage for the duration of the programme. Insurance documents showing the coverage details are required to be submitted to the IAU UNESCO team prior to arrival.
  • Emergency contact information must be provided upon registration.
  • Any medical conditions or special requirements must be disclosed to the organizers in advance.

06 · Payment and refund

  • Payment for the programme is non-refundable, other than in exceptional circumstances, such as visa refusal, at the discretion of the organizing committee. In the exceptional cases, 75% of the payment will be refunded excluding the bank transfer expenses.

07 · Liability

  • Istanbul Aydın University and the UNESCO Chair are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during the programme, including during scheduled trips.
  • Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and valuables.

08 · Changes and cancellations

  • The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the programme itinerary or schedule if necessary.
  • In the event of programme cancellation by the organizers, participants will be notified as soon as possible, and any fees paid will be refunded.

09 · Agreement

  • By submitting an application, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
  • By participating in the IAU UNESCO Peace & Diplomacy Programme, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
